How TradeHire Protects Technician Privacy While Connecting Them to Work

If you are a licensed tradesperson, you have probably experienced this: you put your resume on a job board, and suddenly every recruiter within a hundred miles has your phone number. Your current employer finds out you are looking. Spam calls multiply. Your personal information is out there, and you have no control over who sees it.

TradeHire was designed to solve this problem at the architecture level — not with a privacy setting buried in a menu, but with a system that makes privacy the default.

The TH-ID System

Every technician on TradeHire is identified by a TH-ID — a unique, anonymous identifier like TH-ME-004812. This is what employers and property owners see when they browse the verified technician database. Your name, phone number, email address, and other personal details are never displayed.

What is visible:

  • Your verified license type and authority level
  • Your trade category
  • Your years of experience
  • Your service area (general region, not address)
  • Your availability status

What is not visible:

  • Your name
  • Your phone number
  • Your email address
  • Your current employer
  • Your home address

Masked Communication

When an employer or property owner wants to connect with you, they send a request through the platform. You receive a notification and can review the opportunity before deciding whether to engage.

If you accept, communication happens through masked channels. Phone calls are routed through Twilio proxy numbers — neither party sees the other's real phone number. Messages are handled through the platform's encrypted messaging system.

This means you can have a full conversation with a potential employer without ever revealing your personal contact information.

Consent-Based Identity Reveal

Your identity is only revealed when you explicitly choose to share it. This happens at a specific, intentional moment — not as an automatic consequence of engaging with the platform.

Until you make that choice:

  • Employers see your TH-ID, not your name
  • All communication is routed through masked channels
  • Your current employer cannot discover you are on the platform
  • Your personal information remains encrypted in our system

Why This Matters

Privacy in trade hiring is not about having something to hide. It is about professional autonomy. A Master Electrician exploring better opportunities should not have to broadcast that fact to their current shop, every recruiter in the state, and anyone else who happens to be looking.

On TradeHire, you control the timeline of engagement. Browse opportunities quietly. Respond to outreach selectively. Share your identity when — and only when — you are ready.

The Technical Foundation

Behind the scenes, TradeHire protects your data with:

  • App-layer encryption for all PII (personally identifiable information)
  • Database-level access controls that restrict PII visibility even for administrators
  • Audit logging that records every access to sensitive data
  • TCPA-compliant communication with full opt-out support

Your privacy is not a feature. It is the foundation the platform is built on.
