HVAC Jobs in Sherman, Maine

HVAC technicians install and service the heating, cooling and ventilation equipment that keeps Maine buildings warm through long winters — oil and propane boilers and furnaces, heat pumps and air-conditioning systems. Sherman is in Aroostook County, whose county seat is Houlton and whose population was 67,105 in 2020. TradeHire shows postings at county level, so this page lists every hvac opening in Aroostook County, not only those in Sherman itself.

67.8% of occupied homes in Aroostook County heat mainly with fuel oil or kerosene, 5.1% with propane, the median home was built in 1972 and 19.9% of units date from before 1940 (ACS 2020-2024 5-year estimates). A heating stock like this keeps oil and propane service, boiler and furnace replacement, and heat pump installation busy year-round, with the heaviest demand from October to April.

• Twin Rivers runs a large paper plant in Madawaska that gets pulp by pipeline from its sister mill across the border in Edmundston, New Brunswick.
• Caribou averages about 9,048 heating degree days a year and about 38 nights at or below 0°F (1991-2020 NOAA normals), so heating systems here work hard.
